Fist-ta-Cuffs

“Never hit a man with a closed fist, but on occasion it is hilarious!” - Malcolm Reynolds πŸ™‚

In martial arts communities when one makes use of the hands one might assume the discussion is on karate πŸ₯‹. Here’s the rub, there is no martial art that doesn’t exclusively the hands. You see, hands have their hands into every single concept and application of the methods found in all martial disciplines, all of them. Savate is the use of the legs and feet but applying its method would run into some serious issues if the hands and arms were taken completely out of the situation. Even if you tie one’s hands behind the back you can easily see them still moving in ways that help lessen their restriction in applying savate methods.

In nature, the survival of our very species depended and depends on our abilities of our hands. Using firearms, spears, shields, vehicles, mechanized war machines all depend on hands. Even the most efficient iMechanized forms of war require one’s hands to, at minimum, trigger that weapon.

Mankind’s goal in modern war is to remove the human as far away as possible from an enemy combatant. Going hands on in defense or combat is resisted unless a conscious decision is made to participate as long as the appropriate training and practice is applied properly before, during and especially after one participates in any form of violence.

Even our longevity in living life is judged by and requires strong hands, especially if we survive into our winter years.

Movement and balance is best maintained through hands and arms moving properly and efficiently.

Our hands are a natural wonder of nature and we may not have had the ability to crawl out of the ???? if not for evolutionary development of hands.

In martial arts regardless of named perceived application depend on types of joints, interconnected muscles and ligaments and very fundamental principles applied well in violence can one survive.

It’s in the hands; it’s in your hands, apply them well!
