Shin (Kokoro) - karada [心 - 体]
It must be written, “The mind shapes the body, and the body influences the mind.” Thus the mind-body connection!
Learning:
Phase one: focus on gross motor sequences and movement patterns.
Phase two: after learning phase one, the mind relaxes and triggers “thinking,” to observe the body in motion.
Phase three: experience triggers “intention thru imagery, enhancing quality and characteristics of movement.
Phase four: trigger higher levels of practice, movement and thoughts becoming “one;” no lag time between intention to move, act, or react. You no longer try, you just “do!”
In phase four you gradually achieve, “no distinction between conscious “thinking” about movement and the body physically fulfilling that request. It removes the slow thinking process, the decision process, to act in an instinctual way. You enter “the zone!”
You can dissolve the hyphen between mind-body to mindbody! 😎
