Karate dōhō-dan [空手同胞団]
A shared journey along the path that is karate-do - a Martial Discipline! As quoted from elsewhere:
“Every day, men and women are challenged and are sometimes put into situations where the camaraderie builds itself, and the men and women are able to build one another.” - unknown
“In the dojo there is a potential calling that draws people together, where they are able to establish an environment that breeds the brotherhood that has been sought in every corner of one’s life.” - unknown
“When a member of the dojo, one learns to define brotherhood (sisterhood), not in words, but in actions. Every day, those men and women are challenged and are sometimes put into situations where the camaraderie builds itself, and the men and women are able build each other.” - unknown
The uniform (the traditional Okinawan karate-gi) only lays the foundation for what brings these select, and exceptional, men and women together; it is the call to the tao, the ideals, and the shared title of being a karate-ka and believing in what that means, that truly binds the karate-ka, men and women, together, across all dojo, systems and organizations.
