Yūsei kankaku [優性感覚]
All humans have a sense that dominates their sensory processing. Society has focused on the visual and many of us who have other sense dominant properties often feel the discomfort of being forced to use just the one. Read more here: https://tinyurl.com/epcjcsv4

Spatial Orientation?
Kūkan no muki [空間の向き]
Defines our natural ability to maintain our body orientation and/or posture in relation to the surrounding environment (physical space) at rest and during motion. Our sensory system contributes a great deal to that orientation so it behooves us to train all of these in a wholehearted way.
Society leans heavily toward our sight sense thus assuming sight runs the show, but in my limited understanding our tactile sense holds a bit more sway as to orientation, i.e., touch not just with hands and fingers but rather our entire bodies via our skin and the hairs on our skin, etc.
We also tend to assume our smell has limited effect on orientation but our ability to smell and taste have their fair share to contribute as well.
This is why martial arts, like many arts and combative and sports, are an all-round tool to develop our senses and the bodies abilities from orientations.
Take a look at the link in this article as well as the links within that article for food for thought in building knowledge and understanding which will help you master self, body, mind and methodologies labeled karate and martial arts 🥋.
Hint: Let me note here that “breathing” is critical in a stressful response of defense so train and practice that deep slow diaphragmatic breathing 😮💨! Police use it in stressful dangerous situations as do the military and other violence professionals such as security or bouncers, etc.
Hint: in very stressful encounters your vision goes tunnel so, as the military does, when the heat goes up put your head and eyes on a swivel to take in all 360 degrees.
