PHILOSOPHICALLY SPEAKING: Reality vs. Belief

Blog Article/Post Caveat (Read First Please: Click the Link)

It is strange that we seek what we assume is reality when in truth what we seek is what confirms our beliefs and our beliefs are not exactly reality. Reality is a mind game, it is about that little group of “grey cells” that make up our brain that makes up our thoughts. Thoughts that are a collection of electrical threads of on and off that flutter and flow around all those grey cells. Our perceptions from external stimuli that is picked up by a limited set of body sensory systems that the little grey cells make up into what we assume is reality.

The nature of our species as with all species is how the little grey cells process the electrical snippets of on and off states that when formed and formulated into perceptions, concepts, triggers and mind-states of memory that create beliefs that in and of itself creates what we assume is reality.

Realities differ regardless and in accordance with each person as an individual influenced by others, family, and others in the social order that supports and provides survival concepts for that individual all affecting our perceptions and beliefs and assumptions and all according to the every chaotic and in flux set of dissonances and biases all meant to help the individual and the social collective to survive.

It is no wonder that when one entity, person, encounters other entities, other people or animals or both, that conflict is inevitable. Here is where the rubber meets the road because all of us are dependent on others to create out beliefs leading to a reality that can be symbiotic to others realities so that we - survive!

Don’t assume your perceived reality is the same as others realities and that those realities based on differing beliefs are going to make for smooth sailing both in and out of one’s group, tribe or family.

"It's not about reality, it is about what you believe."
