The following five, at a minimum, must be achieved to teach, learn and apply self-protection:
- You must be able to act.
- You must stop the attack(er).
- You must be cleared of all criminal charges.
- You must “win” in civil court.
- You must be able to emotionally handle the aftermath.
Do these five, minimally, get addressed in your self-protection program? In order to be prepared for the inevitable aftermath of using self-defense and its legal system defense you need to prepare, at minimum, for all five. When it happens you had better have a plan, be prepared and accept the facts of self-defense.
