Intuition

"Intuition is the highest form of knowledge. What we learn from others can be mis-taught by those not a fraction as knowledgable as they pretend or by those who are propagandists with agendas. We are born with intuition, however, which includes the natural law, a sense of right and wrong. A lot of people rebel so  continually against natural law that not only does that part of their intuition atrophy but also every other aspect of it. They strike the match, open the door, give their money to an investment advisor named Slick, and trust that if they are really nice to the thug with the switchblade, he'll be nice to them." - Dean Koontz "Odd Thomas Series"

When I read this I had to post the quote here to make a point. This would actually be true to my perception of the world. We have atrophied our intuitive processes in exchange for instant gratification and the ease of using electronic methods to find our answers. I am not advocating that using electronic forms of research are not good but often people allow it to do the work for them in lieu of gathering the data and allowing our intuitive processes to find our own answers.

This, of course, requires us to lay down the electronic methods, allow our brains and minds to meditate on the information, and then finally allowing the brain and mind to store it in long term memory where our intuitive mind can process it to a point that it produces answers when questions arise. It means we actually have to think for ourselves and in traditional/classical disciplines such as martial arts we can achieve a level of intuitive processing that we can act naturally to achieve great things. This is a lesson of the ancient classics of knowledge of China.
