The sheep dream of being the sheepdog. This is true and some of the sheep may even venture into the sheepdog's territory. This is what may be filling many roles under the title sheepdog but in some cases ends up being someone who has to be sent back to the ranks of sheep - hopefully without loss of any sheep or other sheepdogs.
Some tend to move into the sheepdog role well and do well guarding the sheep from the wolves. They may not be leader type sheepdog but they are dependable and solid back up to the chief sheepdogs.
Overall, there are few sheep who don't tend to dream of being the sheepdog. They may not have the intestinal fortitude to reach those heights and there is noting wrong with that yet they sometimes allow their dreams to put up false facades, faces that say they are sheepdogs but in reality deep down underneath that face they are still sheep.
After all, if every sheep could be a sheepdog then there would be no need for the sheepdog, right? The wolves would be outnumbered and the wolves would find no victims so they would remain in their own domain.
Dreaming to be a sheepdog in and of itself is not a bad thing, we all have to have dreams after all but putting up false face or facades to fool ourselves or to fool others into thinking we are sheepdog when in reality we are sheep wearing a sheepdog disguise is unproductive and often dangerous.
When those wanna-be sheepdogs sell other sheep the false sense of security through self-defense, i.e. SD that promotes a feeling of sheepdog, giving the sheep the false sense of security, i.e. I am now a sheepdog - all wolves beware, will sometimes end up in tragedy.
It is important to differentiate between the dream and reality. Find reality and accept whether you are a sheepdog or a sheep. Don't forget that the sheepdog still has the ability to survive a wolf attack if they realize what it takes to avoid the wolf or to escape damage to seek out safety until the sheepdogs arrive. This is possible but fooling yourself thinking or dreaming your the sheepdog or worse the wolf leads to issues.
