Jiko-no-hanashi-no-geijutsu : "The Art of Self-Talk"

It has become apparent to me that talk, talking, has many benefits and many disadvantages. Talking can have an affect on health. Even the talking we do in our heads. A few questions arose while I contemplated this set of facts.

You know that the brains of males and females are different in functions. One is how a person of either gender handles so called multi-tasking. Another is one gender uses talking as a part of the survival system while the other does not use talking.

If talking raises body and brain chemicals toward a unhealthy effect then I asked myself the question does the gender of the person also affect whether it is healthful or not? If one gender is instinctively not a talker then I can readily see this effect as unhealthy. To do something that is stressful does result in unhealthy results. If the other gender is instinctively a talker then I would have thought that this would be beneficial for health thus reducing such stress induced effects.

Since syntonic listening, what I believe is called also active listening, is promoted to be healthy regardless of gender then the question of gender is moot. I could also see since one gender is meant to be communicators/talkers then they get double the benefits of healthful effects while the other gender gets one from syntonic listening and not so healthy effects from communications/talking.

Verbal Self-Defense promotes the healthy effects of syntonic listening. It also states that talking of any kind is a stresser with stress effects to the body and mind. The distinctions as discussed are relevant to clarify the last. Talking as to deescalation in a crises can then be doubly unhealthy in one set while partially unhealthy in another. This is not meant as a sexist statement or analysis. It is important that although I believe in human equality I still have to consider and be aware of differences in humans with a gender distinction along with other social ones to deescalate, talk, and listen syntonically/effectively. This also provides for beneficial communications in all facets of life other than in self-defense.
