Hindsight

Often we encounter threats where afterward we tend to use the proverbial hindsight to analyze and make decisions as to lessons learned so we may act better if it happens again. We sense a realization that if we did this or did that that maybe we would have succeeded or did better or what ever. It is like the what-if monkey - what if I did this instead of that then I would have done this or that in lieu of what I did and failed at and on and on and yadda yadda yadda.

Our natural instincts use both foresight and hindsight to learn and teach ourselves what we need to do for survival. We must understand the significance and nature of events in life if we are to grow and become enlightened. Foresight is knowledge learned used to evaluate and train to act when events are encountered. Hindsight is the analysis of events passed so we may train to act properly or better when events are encountered. We need to review past events and ask the why.

What we must not do is allow our emotional monkey brain to take over that hindsight analysis and create a totally false sense of correction where that new correction could lead to inappropriate training that gets us hurt - avoid damage, remember?

One tends to look at hindsight as something bad. Something negative. Something we should avoid. This is not true. We simply have to acknowledge that it is a dual endeavor and the choice we make on its use must be reality based. That takes some doing as this is an instinct that nature usually turns over to the monkey brain who drives the lizard brain which may be inappropriate. That is what your training should look to for answers - foresight and hindsight.

Use hindsight to truly understand the nature of an even after it has happened. Use it properly to achieve improved reality training that will be there for you and overcome those other ineffectual acts that allow for damage. Avoid the damage and use foresight and hindsight.
