Be Open to All

I guess it may seem to some Isshinryu practitioners who read this blog that lately I have taken to being very critical of it and of some of its leaders, etc. This is not true. I just firmly believe that if we do not question incongruities [dissimilarities] who do Isshinryu and its history a disservice. When you see or hear anything that does not exactly seem accurate/correct you MUST question it until it is resolved to everyone's satisfaction. This is especially important to practitioners as to themselves.

We do the system and ourselves a disservice if we don't seek out correctness and accuracy in what we practice and teach, with emphasis on teaching. I merely ask the question and then provide a view, a personal view or theory, of what it may actually be vs. what is perceived as it may actually be.

There are so many urban legends out there for the world of martial practice that it becomes very difficult separating truth from bullshit. I ask and provide theories so that those who may have correct "facts" with "verifications" to comment and set the record straight. As long as it remains simply theory with out substantiations then it remains questionable.

So, I will ask the difficult questions and hope that those who have substantiated responses that are easily verified will provide more than theory or their views much like I see from Sloane Sensei and AJA Sensei.
