Pragmatic

Pragmatic: matter-of-fact: concerned with practical matters; Practical, concerned with making decisions and actions that are useful in practice, not just theory ...

I am contemplating things simply because I believe I am a pragmatic person. As you can see that means I feel strongly that we do things not just as to theory or academia but in a practical sense as well. This means if you take up the ideology, practice or method, you need to not only know it through and through but apply it as well.

Something to consider in the practice and application of karate or any martial system. This is vital if you plan on the actual application of it in fighting. In a life and death situation, or possible situation, you must not enter into it with  out the proper mindset and tools, tried and true, proven in fire; as the outcome can be most disturbing.

One of the most problematic issues any tribe can have is a group of practitioners who have no experience.

What is it that must be accomplished in preparation for that time when these fine folks have to face violence?

Proper practice, proper drilling, and all of it as close to reality as you can get. Mindset when training and practicing ... military have had to prepare non-combatants for the inevitability of it and they do that well.

Drilling, training, drilling, training, drilling, training, there is no other way except by walking the wall itself.
