Hacked Away at Isshinryu

Absolutely no disrespect intended!
Yes, I have recently hacked away at some aspects of the Isshinryu system such as Tatsuo's intent in teaching, the fist, stances, and other stuff. I want to express that this is not a personal vendetta against this system. After all, it is my system and I practice it diligently and continually. You can look at this endeavor as a way for me to pick apart the academia of the system as to content, meaning, custom, intent, and so on. Yes, I am also picking away at the basic/fundamentals of it as well to continue my exploration of the system.

The blog and web provide me a unique forum to explore the mental side of what I practice and that includes the system Tatsuo built. I hope that this process will help me critique what I am doing yet also to detect flaws and errors in my practice and preaching of martial arts, both specific to Okinawan Isshinryu and my familiarity of other martial systems.

I really believe wholeheartedly that if you are not doing this to your own system, your own practice and all that it entails then you do yourself a disservice. You may miss some very important fundamentals of the system which will reflect on how you take in other systems. I don't feel I can "assume" anything cause it may cost me somewhere sometime at a price I would rather not pay.

p.s. I will continue hacking away as my system of practice. I want to find all the holes and close them properly.
